Your identity has been established by God. It is unchangeable, unbreakable and eternally true. Your identity consists of four fundamental markers, as well as, your individual traits, which are unique to you; handcrafted by God Himself:
1. You are an eternal being.
Your body will perish, but your soul remains forever; whether it be in Heaven or Hell.
When the Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed—for our testimony to you was believed. 2 Thessalonians 1:7b-10.
2. You are a child of God.
You have been created in the image of God and your very breath was given by Him.
Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. Genesis 2:7
God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis 1:27
3. You are forgiven.
Jesus paid the debt for all people, restoring what had been lost in the Garden of Eden, allowing, once again, direct communion with God. You have the choice to accept that forgiveness, but regardless of your choice, it is there none-the-less.
As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
4. You are loved with an everlasting and unconditional love.
There is nothing you can do to earn or separate yourself from that love. You are cherished.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. John 3:16-17
“I will never leave you, nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
